The protesters in separate interviews with journalists lamented how both the state and federal government refused to deploy security personnel to the area, a situation which they said resulted in the killing of over 20 innocent people and more than 70 kidnapped in the past one week by the bandits.

They further stated that the villages, which include Fegin Mahe, Kanawa, Kundumai, Yangwai, Tsauna, Gidan Aye, Tsaunika, Kukar Gandu, were now under the control of armed bandits in Gusau local government.

The protesters insisted they will remain in Government House until the state government deploys security personnel in the area.

Speaking to journalists, the vice chairman of Gusau local government,  Aminu Wakili Mada, confirmed the worsening insecurity in the area, adding that the local government  will do everything possible to ensure that peace returns to the area.
