Let’s work together to build Nigeria, Aigbefoh pleads with NASS

A constitutional lawyer and chairman/publisher of Legislative Assembly News, Chief (Dr.) David Ebosetale Aigbefoh on Wednesday called on members of the National Assembly to unite with citizens in order to work towards building the nation.

Aigbefoh stressed that no external aid or institution could replace the collective efforts of citizens in achieving progress and development.

He made the call while speaking with journalists during the first anniversary of “Legislative Assembly News”, in Abuja.

Ambassador Aigbefoh said, “I feel elated because where you see problem, you solve it.”

He pointed out that he had solved the problem by documenting the book, noting that treaty domestication has been a challenge to the National Assembly.

“He said we have thousand of treaties that we entered by Nigeria with other nations but only few have been domesticated, maintaining that the few that were domesticated were not properly captured and aligned with the year in which it they were domesticated in Nigeria.

He said the book went further to advise the lawmakers on how a treaty should be domesticated.

According to him, he observed that Nigeria might lose out in the benefits of international instruments after public resources have gone into their negotiations and adoption.
