Lalong assures Nigerian legion of continued support

Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong, has reassured members of the Nigerian legion, of his administration’s continued support.

The made the pledge at the Jos Central mosque, where special prayers were offered in remembrance of Nigeria’s fallen heroes.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Islamic Affairs, Hon. Sani Mudi, Governor Lalong said, for the sacrifices the Nigerian Armed Forces had been making to keep the country together, his administration would continue to do its best at supporting them.

“The state government wishes to reiterate its commitment to supporting the legionnaires within its territories, and to also commend the Armed Forces for the wonderful jobs that they have been doing in maintaining peace within Plateau state. We also wish to commiserate with all those that have lost thief lives,” Lalong said.

The Chief Imam of Jos, Sheikh Lawal Adam, urged Nigerians to continue to pray and render more support to the members and families of the fallen heroes.

“They are working to save their country, they are sacrificing their lives in service to their father land, and as Prophet Muhammad SAW said, patriotism is part of faith; our Armed Forces have and are demonstrating patriotism to their country,” he said.

Sheikh Adam prayed for continued peace and progress of Nigeria.
