The police authorities said the tactical team in Isheri swung into action on August 1, 2025, following a report of a stolen vehicle linked to the primary suspect, Salisu Ibrahim Abdullahi, who is 31 years old. Acting on intelligence, detectives traced and arrested him in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Further investigations led to the arrest of three accomplices in Kano state: A 45- year- old mechanic, Yenusa Salihu, a 49- year- old car dealer Baba Jero Idris, and  a 41-year old businessman Abdullahi Aliyu . The stolen grey Toyota Hiace bus was also recovered in Kano during the operation.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

Commending the operatives, Lagos state Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, said the swift, intelligence-led operation underscores the command’s commitment to tackling vehicle theft and other criminal activities across the state.
