The Lagos state judiciary has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Hon. Justice A.G. Safari, a distinguished judge who passed away in the early hours of Sunday, April 13, 2025.
He was reportedly found lifeless at his residence and was laid to rest the same day in accordance with Islamic rites.
Justice Safari, who served until his death on the Lagos state High Court bench, had previously held the position of chief registrar of the court.
Revered for his integrity, wisdom, and commitment to justice, his passing has left a significant void in the Lagos legal community.
The Chief Judge of Lagos state, Hon. Justice Kazeem Alogba, led a high-powered delegation of judicial officers to the burial, which took place at 4:00 p.m. at the late jurist’s residence in Sango-Ota, Ogun state.
Among those present were Hon. Justices Oshodi, Adamson, Abdul Ganiu, Animahun, Balogun, and Muyideen Teju, who came to pay their final respects to a colleague many described as a beacon of uprightness and professionalism.
