The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered a thorough investigation into allegations of complicity and other wrongdoings against the Tactical Commander of the Okokomaiko squad.

The allegations concern the investigation and prosecution procedures involving six suspects accused of serious crimes.

To ensure an unhindered and thorough investigation, the tactical commander has been immediately redeployed from the tactical squad.

CP Jimoh has constituted a committee of senior officers, headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), and including the Officer-in-Charge of Legal affairs for the command.

This committee has been mandated to investigate the allegations and submit its findings within one week. The outcome of the investigation will be made public.

The Lagos state Police command stated its zero-tolerance stance against any form of corruption, complicity, or compromise in investigation and prosecution procedures by its officers.

The command also assured the public that if the officer involved is found wanting, appropriate disciplinary measures will be promptly applied to serve as an effective deterrent.

The Commissioner of Police called for caution and restraint, imploring the general public to continue to trust in the Police Force.
