The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state has suffered another fatal blow as one of its chieftains, mobiliser and a core partyman, Hon Chief Asanloko Abiodun Takit (JP), Thursday, moved to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The party chieftain and leader was a gubernatorial aspirant of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), a director in the Hope ’93 MKO campaign organisation, DG to a former PDP gubernatorial aspirant and was also one time Secretary to a local government area in Ekiti, between 2003–2007.

His resignation dated 18th July 2025 was addressed to the Chairman PDP Osi Ward 1, Ekiti LGA Kwara state.

Engr Asanloko, a loyal party leader from Osi Ward 1 while giving reasons for his exit from the PDP cited in part: “My decision to quit the party was inevitably taken and was done in good fate.”

The letter sighted by Blueprint Correspondent reads further: “Sequel to my pronouncement on the 10th July, 2025 at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders meeting to relonquish my party membership, I hereby write you officially to reinforce the pronouncement.

“I thank all the leadership of the PDP at the ward, local, state, and federal level for the opportunity given me to serve in various capacities.

“Hence, my decision to quit the party was inevitably taken and was done in good fate,”

Against the backdrop of the new development, the former senior special adviser to former governor Abdulfatah Ahmed said he will soon engage the media for further briefing.
