Kogi govt promises equitable distribution of democracy dividends

Kogi state Governor, Captain Idris Wada, has reiterated the determination of his administration to continue in its efforts to provide equitable development to all parts of the state.

The governor stated this at the weekend in Egbe, Yagba West local government area of Kogi state during  the presentation of staff of office to Oba Ayodele Irukera, the Elegbe of Egbe and chairman, Yagba West Traditional Council.
Wada, who was also conferred with the chieftaincy title of Atayese of Egbe land, his wife, Hajia Halimat Wada, as the Yeye Atayese of Egbe land, at the occasion, thanked the entire Egbe Community for the love shown to him and his administration.
Represented by his deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, Wada said despite dwindling resources, his administration was able to rehabilitate the Egbe Hospital and Water scheme.

He said: “This administration has also resuscitated the forgotten Egbe Radio station, the station is being transformed into an FM station and will soon commence transmission along with other booster stations in Otite, Okene and Anyigba, Dekina local government area.”

Wada said the construction of Egbe township roads was part of the administration’s package for the infrastructure transformation of Egbe, expressed gladness that the federal government finally heeded the persistent appeals and pressure to reconstruct the Kabba- Egbe-Ilorin Road.
The governor said his administration would continue to make the statutory responsibilities and welfare of traditional rulers a priority despite dwindling resources, solicited support to his administration to enable it achieve the desired goal of lifting the state to an enviable position.
Aside from Wada, others honoured at the occasion included Bashorun Jide Omokore, as the Aremo of Egbeland, and Chief Engr Godwin Abayomi .
Similarly, Senator Smart Adeyemi, representing West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, was amongst several other personalities that received merit awards.
