… Lauds ABU classmates of 97 for identifying with him
The Commissioner of Police , Kogi state Command CP Miller Dantawaye, has called on Nigerians to support the Police with prayers to enable them perform their statutory obligation of protecting lives and property of the citizens.
CP Dantawaye stated this when his classmates, the class of 1997 set of departments of political science, and International Relation , Ahmadu Bello University Zaria paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Police headquarters, Lokoja, Kogi state.
The Commissioner who was excited seeing his school mates, said the Nigerian Police would continue to perform its duties in keeping the environment safe, urging citizens to support the police with useful information to assist them in discharging their duties creditably.
He thanked his classmates led by the national president of the group , Alhaji Umar Magaji , assuring that he would do his best to ensure that he promote the good image of the set and be an ambassador of the premier university.
“I am overwhelmed by your visit. I thank you for according me this rare gesture as one of your own and classmate at ABU Zaria. This is a show of love and support and I will not take this for granted. Your collective prayers and support is what is keeping us moving in the job of policing.
“I will do my best to uphold the good name of our university. Some of our colleagues who also joined the Nigerian Police Force are doing fine. CP Jimoh Moshood is in Lagos as Commissioner of Police and he is doing very wonderful. “
While expressing his heartfelt gratitude to his classmates, the Commissioner of Police enjoined them to continue the love, assuring that the future would be better for all.
Earlier, leader of the group and the national president of department of Political Science, and international relation 1997 set ABU Zaria, Alhaji Umar Magaji, said the PS/IS ”97 Class group was created for mutual and collaborative remembrance.
He stated that the visit was to identify with one of their own who has been elevated to the position of Commissioner of Police in charge of Kogi state.
He thanked the Commissioner for the assistance he had been rendering to the members of the group individually and collectively.
“We are here to appreciate you and to pray for you to continue rising until you reach the pinnacle of your profession. Our members travelled as far as from Sokoto, Zamfara , Benue , Abuja, Bayelsa to join others in Lokoja for the visit. Our prayers are with you all days and God Almighty will continue to guide and protect you for us, Kogi State and Nigeria at large,” he stated.
