A group of Southern Kaduna indigenes under the ageist of Concerned Realists of Southern Kaduna yesterday pressed for state of emergency to end ethno-religious killings in the southern part of Kaduna state.
The group in a statement issued by its spokesman, Dr. John Danfulani said Federal and Kaduna state governments are treating security issue in the area with laxity and without cogent concern.

Reacting on yesterday killing of 38 persons in the area, Danfulani said: “We wish to tell the world that there is monumental failure in handling security issues in Southern Kaduna by Federal and Kaduna governments and security agencies.
“The security situation in Southern Kaduna is giving less attention and concern, while it is degenerating and human lives greatly being wasted with impunity We are reiterating our stand that Southern Kaduna security crises deserves State of Emergency because terrorists are carrying out gradual and systematic genocide in our community.”

They added that it was of utmost important “because of Southern Kaduna sensitivity and central nature sharing borders with Nasarawa, Bauchi, Plateau, and Niger states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).”
It added that the insecurity ravaging Southern Kaduna region ought to be separated with politics and vested interests, instead must be handled with utmost sincerity, justice and honesty contrary to what it said was happening in the state.
Similarly, Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has condemned the attack, describing it as “a provocative attempt” by some unpatriotic people to cause confusion and unrest.
In a statement by his Director General Media and Publicity, Ahmed Maiyaki, the governor condoled with families of victims of the unwarranted attack on innocent indigenes.
