Kebbi sets up committee to end farmers, Fulani clashes

The governor of Kebbi state, Dr. Nasir Idris has waded into the crisis between farmers and Fulani herders in Suru and Koko/Besse local government areas of the state.

He stated that dialogue remained the best form of resolving such misunderstanding nationwide.

Governor Idris made this clear during a condolence visit to the people of Suru and Koko/Besse local government areas following the clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmers.

The governor stated that his visit was aimed at laying the foundation for permanent settlement of the crises towards the restoration of peace and stability in both areas.

He donated N4 million to the families of two deceased persons and N5 million to eight persons who sustained injuries in Suru local government.

In Koko/Besse where two persons were missing and one person killed, the governor donated N2million to the family of a deceased person and another N2million to those injured in the clashes.
