The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Kebbi state, has warned eligible voters against malpractices in the Continuous Voter Registration Exercise (CVR), commencing on 18th August, 2025, for online pre-registration.
Addressing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi Wednesday, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Abubakar Sarkin Pawa Dambo, outlined the excesses to be avoided by voters.
“INEC will not condone registration by proxy, multiple registration, under age registration and other illegal avenues of securing registration”,
“In-person registration will begin on 25th August, 2025, Nigerians who turned 18 years are now eligible voters, and can either do the online registration or present themselves at INEC Local Government Area Offices in their localities for the exercise”,
“Nigerians who lost or misplaced their voter cards or become mutilated as well as those who changed residences or addresses or desire name change or date of birth, should present themselves for physical registration in INEC offices, in their areas of residence”, Dambo explained.
He advised all intending online registrants to feed in their BioData and other relevant information.
“Before the 2023 general elections, INEC in Kebbi state registered 2,032,41 eligible voters”,
“1,096,449 are males representing 54%, while females registration stand at 935,592 representing 46%”,
“Total number of Registration Areas, RA, is 225, while number of Polling Units is 3,743”,
“1,847,752 representing 97% collected their Permanent Voter Cards, while a neglible number are lying in INEC offices for collection”,
“The commission encourages owners to present themselves for collection of the cards at a date to be announced later”.
“Kebbi has three senatorial zones and nine federal constituencies as at 2023”, the REC explained.
