The Igbo community in Kebbi state has expressed satisfaction about the brotherly atmosphere of unity between the Ndigbo and their host under the APC administration of Governor Nasir Idris.
This was demonstrated by the appointment of an Igbo, Chief Osita Mgbeafuluba as special adviser to the state governor on other tribes.
The Eze Igbo of Gwandu Emirate, Eze Emeka Emeson Okafor, commended Governor Idris for his love and benevolence to the Igbo community in Kebbi.
Okafor spoke in Birnin Kebbi Sunday at the distribution of 300 25kg bags of rice donated to the Igbo community to be shared among the less privileged.
He described the governor as a great achiever in building human capacity among all tribes in Kebbi state.
“Kauran Gwandu has made rice available to us to feed our people, we are grateful.
“Governor Idris is a highly charitable person, everybody can testify to his benevolence.
“Igbos in the state will continue to pray and assist him in the task of good governance. We acknowledge the monumental progress recorded by his administration on infrastructural development.
“The Igbos in Kebbi support him 100% in his political future.
“We however appeal to His Excellency to give an executive order for the refurbishment of Igbo Meeting Hall in Birnin Kebbi which is dilapidated,” Chief Emeka said.
The special adviser to the governor on other tribes, Chief Osita Mgbeafuluba, affirmed that the Igbo in Kebbi were supportive and working with the governor in the development of the state.
“Comrade Idris is the first governor in Nigeria to show such human kindness to the people of the state and the Igbo community.
“He’s our father, we are proud of him, we are committed to his second tenure, all our votes are for the APC in 2027, we pray to God to endow him with increased health and prosperity,” Chief Osita remarked.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmad Birnin Kebbi, described himself as a friend of the Igbos throughout his working career.
“Igbos are progressive and friendly people, I lived and worked in Borno for 30 years, I have Igbos as friends, they are enterprising.
“Governor Idris is a personality of capacity, compassion, a man with love for his people, his benevolence is unlimited.
“This is a testimony to his milk of human kindness by donating rice to the Igbo community to be shared among the vulnerable.
“The governor has made massive impact on urban and rural transformation, Birnin Kebbi, the state capital has been transformed into modern cosmopolitan city.
“In addition, he has put in place necessary structures and facilities for economic growth and prosperity,” he said.
