In what appears to be an epic political stalemate, a group in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi state, Thursday, suspended some members of the state working committee and branded them impostors.
Critical stakeholders of the party described themselves as genuine working committee elected at a congress and announced the suspension of Sufiyanu Bala, chairman, Junaidu Muhammed Mudi, deputy chairman and Hawwa’u Muhammed, secretary.
The faction claimed that the suspended members lacked the moral consciousness, transparency and accountable trust to preside over the affairs of the ADC, having diverted from its principles and objectives.
Allegations against them include taking unilateral decisions without consultation or input from other members of the executive committee, poor leadership and administrative inefficiency which has put the party in crisis and drawn it backward.
At a meeting in Birnin Kebbi, the ADC kicked against what it described as selfish and illegitimate hijack of the party by Abuja politicians seeking to dominate the affairs of the party in Kebbi state without recourse to due process.
The ADC faction announced that the suspended members are now replaced by Abubakar Isah Iko as the interim chairman of the party, while Adamu Aliyu is new secretary.
The party said other members of the ADC are still valid and active.
