Gunmen Sunday evening stormed the residence of Malumfashi local government secretary in Malumfashi town, the headquarters of Malumfashi local government, Katsina state, and shot him dead.
The terrorists stormed the area at 8:00pm in the evening. A resident in the area who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent via telephone interview that the terrorists went straight to the residence of the secretary and asked his family about his where about.
“It was after his family told them that he was not at home they surrounded the mosque close to the residence where we were performing Isha’i prayers and immediately after the prayers, they arrested him and shot him to death on the spot,” he said.
He stated further that the terrorists came to the area with sophisticated weapons.
He described late Ibrahim Aliyu as God- fearing who sacrificed his life to the restoration of peace in Malumfashi local government.
He appealed to Katsina state government and security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators were arrest and brought to book.
“We are calling on Katsina state government and security agencies to do the needful by ensuring those behind the killing of our local government secretary are arrested and taken to court of law for prosecution,” he said.
