The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Katsina, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke, has expressed confidence that his party would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s general elections in the state.

Lado made this assertion on Sunday at the inauguration of Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign committee the campaign committee in the state.

According to him, the failure of the ruling APC at both state and national levels is a boost to the chances of the PDP in the coming polls.

“People have been impoverished by the APC and many of them are already crying for an alternative in governance, which the PDP is poised to offer.

“The APC in the state has over the years collected loans worth billions of naira and has nothing tangible to show in the socio-economic development status of the state,” he said.

Lado said if elected his government would give priority to agriculture, which is the main stay of the state’s economy, as well as quality investment in the water sector and youth empowerment.

He however dismissed allegations that the PDP in the state was not united, adding that the party would work to ensure it ousts the APC and gets to form the new government in the state.

“From all indications, and by the grace of God, the PDP is confident that it would go very far in the coming elections in all elective positions in the state,” Lado boasted.

The PDP Campaign Council Chairman, Senator Umar Ibrahim Tsauri, in his remarks, assured of the council’s readiness to hit the ground running to ensure that the party brings good governance to bear in the state at all levels.
