Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, in the dead of the night on Saturday demolished structures at Daula Hotel and Hajj Camp.
Blueprint reports that the multimillion naira buildings were destroyed just like the first three storey buildings with 90 shops on Race Course Road in the Nasarawa GRA. It marks the beginning of destruction of structures the government described as illegal.
On Saturday, Governor Yusuf restated his determination to continue demolishing buildings the government says are illegal.
A statement issued by his chief press secretary, Malam Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said the demolition started with the three storey building that had 90 shops on Race Course Road, in the Nasarawa GRA, in the early hours of Saturday.
It could be recalled that the immediate past administration of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje said the buildings at Daula Hotel was a private public partnership (PPP) structure.
The developer handling the buildings at the Hajj Camp was directed to stop work on Friday by the state governor during a visit to the camp.
