Gaya emirate council in Kano state has suspended five district heads for alleged insubordination, hours after the commencement of the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah festivity.
In a press statement in Kano, the affected district heads were outrightly sent packing on the order of the emir of Gaya, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir, who viewed the action of the five district heads as a total defiance to the traditional institution whose authority must be respected at all cost.
The suspension affected two king makers, who before the creation of the new emirates were among the five king makers saddled with the task of appointing past emirs of Kano.
Meanwhile, reactions have continued to greet the suspensions slammed on the five district heads with indigenes of the areas expressing disgust over the way and manner the council directive on attending the traditional Hawan Sallah was flouted just hours after the commencement of the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebration.
