Kano buys hospital equipment to boost health care

Anti-malarial drugs, microscopes and other diagnostic kits worth over N100 million were procured by the Kano state government for primary and secondary health facilities in the state.
Performing the function during the 2016 volunteer community mobilisers (VCM, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje reiterated his administration’s resolve to continue to accord priority to the health sector in view of its pressing needs.
The governor stressed the need for all and sundry to complement government’s efforts in this direction and commended donor agencies for their unflinching support in health sector, particularly the fight against polio eradication.

While commenting on the VCM convention, Ganduje commended the VCM for their zeal and commitment towards educating and sensitising households on the importance of the oral polio vaccine and ensure that no child was left out in every community.
Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Kabiru l Getso, dwelt on the several laudable projects and interventions introduced by the present administration, such as the free primary eyes care and surgery programme, support to non-communicable disease such as diabetes mellitus, strengthen disease outbreak and quick response as the case of Lassa fever outbreak, among others.
