Kaduna SWAN mourns YSFON scribe AbdulRazaq Usman

 

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna state chapter, has described the death of Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) Kaduna state Secretary, Malam AbdulRazaq Usman as shocking and devastating.

AbdulRazaq Usman, who was also the 1st Vice Chairman of Kaduna Athletics Association and founding member of 3M Sports, died early Monday morning after an illness at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika. 

A statement signed by the Secretary of Kaduna SWAN, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson on Monday said the death of the grassroots sports mobilise and multi sports coach and administrator has left a huge gap to fill for the sports family in Kaduna state and Nigeria as a whole. 

“The Chairman of Kaduna SWAN, Malam Shehu Abdullahi, on behalf of members of the chapter, is devastated by the demise of Malam AbdulRazaq Usman, which sad event occured in the early hours of Monday March 4, 2024 at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika Zaria.

“His demise has left a huge gap in the area of grassroots sports development in the state. Our condolences are extended to his immediate family, the sports family in Kaduna state, as well as the government and people of the state,” Kaduna SWAN said.

SWAN while wishing the deceased a smooth transition, prayed that Almighty Allah grants him a place in Aljannah Firdausi.

“National Organising Secretary of YSFON, Malam AbdulRazaq Usman touched several lives while he lived, contributing tremendously to grassroots sports development not only in the state, but across the entire nation.

“His indelible legacies will live after him and the talents he has groomed, will always be available to keep his memories with us,” SWAN concluded.
