There was wild jubilation as the first flights landed at the Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport, Ebonyi state.
Two aircraft belonging to Air Peace landed at the airport on Thursday at 3:45 pm and 4:10 pm respectively.
Their landing and taking off on the same day marked the beginning of commercial activities in the newly constructed International Airport by the Ebonyi state government.
The exercise gladdened many citizens as they never believed that the project was possible.
Speaking to Blueprint correspondent in Ebonyi, Mr. Nwedu noted that the construction of the airport by Governor David Umahi was something the people never believed was possible.
He expressed happiness that for the first time in the history of the state, such a remarkable achievement was realised.
Also, Mrs. Agnes Okorie said the airport would avail many business opportunities to the state.
She commended the state governor for the lofty idea.
Governor Umahi on the occasion expressed gratitude to God for the landing of the aircraft.
