Nigeria’s automobile market has welcomed a new entrant as Jetour officially introduced the plug-in hybrid electric version of its lifestyle off-roader, the T2 (PHEV).
The arrival of the vehicle marks a significant step for both the brand and the country’s green energy agenda, offering motorists a blend of petrol power and electric efficiency.
According to Jetour, the new T2 (PHEV) delivers an innovative driving experience by combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a dual electric motor setup, producing a combined output of 280 kW (375 hp) and maximum torque of 610 Nm.
The vehicle is powered by a 26.73kWh battery, capable of multiple charging modes—fast charging, slow charging, engine charging, and brake-force regeneration. This ensures drivers remain flexible whether relying on petrol or electric power.
The SUV’s arrival comes just months after Jetour was named “Fastest Growing Auto Brand in Nigeria” at the 2024 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards, a recognition of its rapid acceptance and market success since debuting locally.
Measuring 4785mm in length, 2006mm in width, and 1875mm in height, the Jetour T2 PHEV places emphasis on safety and occupant comfort.
It is equipped with multiple airbags, an Advanced Emergency Braking System, Auto Hold System, Electronic Parking Brake, RMI anti-rollover control, and a 360° panoramic camera system.
Additional driver-assist technologies include Lane Departure Warning, Forward/Backward Collision Warning, Lateral Collision Detection (BSD/DOW), Bend Braking Control, and Wading Sensing System.
