Priscilla Ojo-Mkambala, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, has alleged that the fire which gutted her mother’s Lagos office on July 8, 2025, was a deliberate act linked to threats made against her recent wedding.

In a statement posted via her Instagram story, Priscilla disclosed that the family had earlier received a handwritten threat letter, which she believes was an attempt to sabotage her wedding, tagged “JP2025.”

“Sadly, on May 24, this letter was delivered to my mum’s office,” she revealed, sharing an image of the letter. “It was clearly a threat to her life and an attempt to ruin JP2025. Fortunately, she was travelling to Tanzania for the wedding at the time and only saw the letter after her return.”

She said the family is currently reviewing CCTV footage to trace the individual who dropped the letter and promised to present evidence to the police when necessary. She also revealed that extra surveillance cameras had been installed both at home and at her mother’s office.

Priscilla described the fire as a possible “Plan B” after the failed attempt to derail her wedding. “This is deeply troubling and deserves a thorough investigation,” she said.

The threat letter, which she shared on social media, reads in part: “You put someone in trouble, and now you’re out enjoying yourself, giving out your daughter in marriage, abi?… We’ll all be there on the wedding day. Just wait and see. – Aggrieved Group.”

Although no suspect has been officially named, the family has reinforced security around Iyabo Ojo’s home and workplace.

Actress Iyabo Ojo had earlier confirmed the fire incident on her Instagram page, expressing gratitude to the Nigerian Fire Service and her staff for helping to contain the fire and minimize damage. She also noted that no lives were lost.

Concluding her statement, Priscilla said, “We remain strong, hopeful, and prayerful. Justice will prevail. No amount of threats will silence my mother.”
