Nigerians have been urged to ignore the September 23 stay-at-home order issued by Biafra agitators in solidarity for the release of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Directorate of State (DOS) and the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had, through its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, issued a statement urging their members to be part of the sit-at-home order on Friday, no matter where they come from.
The statement read in part: “Every prayer to treat us as equals has been roundly rejected by the oppressor, who vowed to lead everybody into the ocean, rather than loose us from bondage, leaving us no other choice than to reject, permanent status of serfs, by embarking on our glorious march to freedom and the release of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“Our statement by sitting at home tomorrow is designed to encourage each other that our future is in our hands. The oppressor can only successfully continue to oppress us if we do nothing and concede to his domineering plots. We are born free. We shall be free. How we feel in this false union and false marriage of incompatible bad fellows is the reason, we shall on Friday, between 7am and 4pm, sit at home. It becomes necessary to remind ourselves, why it is important to save and protect the future of our unborn progeny.
“The choices we make today will invariably shape our future, the unbearable oppression and persecution of the oppressor is unrelenting. His paranoia is informed and fueled by his fear of our God given endowments, physical, material and spiritual. Every effort has been made by our parents to renegotiate our terms of association; all were thrown to the dogs by the oppressor, including Aburi Accord of January 1967.”
Continuing, it said: ‘We, IPOB and MASSOB (home) hereby dissociate ourselves from the directives of Radio Biafra broadcasting from Oversea that people should stay indoors on September 23 in solidarity for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
“We plead that President Muhammadu Buhari effect the release of Nnamdi Kanu immediately without condition and that all previous court judgements which ordered his release by obeyed without further delay. We urge the people and every believer of the Biafra struggle to go about their normal businesses without molestation.”
