Investment in gas: Arewa Oil, AROGMA to partner NNPCL, foreign investors

Nigerians, especially northerners are set to witness an energy transition and alternative energy from Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petroleum to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), as plans are underway by Arewa Oil and Gas Marketers Association (AROGMA), to invite foreign companies to invest in domestic gas utilisation value chain in the region.

This was  stated by the newly elected chairman of AROGMA, Bashir Ahmad Dan-Mallam, at  a press conference in Kano last weekend.

Dan-Mallam said AROGMA, with the active support of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), is set to invite companies from Qatar, Turkey, Germany and India for establishment of gas facilities in Nigeria.

He added that AROGMA is already in contact with their foreign partners and it is studying their various proposals.

The chairman noted that the project would be a great achievement for Nigeria and would be another milestone in the country’s development, especially the Northern region.
