Ahead of United Nation International Peace Day a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) has commenced the use of Volleyball and other sports as a tool for promoting peace and unity among Nigerians youth.
While stressing that sport is a universal language and it’s a powerful means of promoting peaceful coexistence , tolerance and understanding among different faith base organisation.
The group under the aegis of National Peace Revival and Reconciliation Foundation, led by its president Pastor Yohanna Buru make the statement during a match which was organised in Kaduna with the aims of strengthening Christians and Muslims relationship in the state.
According to him, for the past 10 years his organization has been organizing series of sportive events across the state to mark international peace day and this year, they are going to used a whole week through organizing a series of games events and other activities which is aimed at boosting christian -muslims relationship for peace and unity.
“We must joined hands together toward promoting peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims to live in peace and harmony in the state. We must collaborate and support government at all level toward building an end to all forms of crisis bedevilling peace and stability in the state,” he said.

He emphasised the use of sports at school, communities, to promote unity among Nigerians youth.
He called on Nigerians NGOs and civil society organization that promotes peace, unity and to use sports to reconcile Nigerians youths.
The International Peace Day is slated for September 21st.
