Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development has organised a community stakeholders’ dialogue with a call for the reintegration of radicalised women and children.
The event, which was held at the Women Development Centre, enjoined community stakeholders to stop stigmatisation of radicalised and reintegrated insurgents, especially the women and children who are mostly orphans, widows, divorcees.
The group also suggested that the insurgents, who were forcefully conscripted and abducted, deserved access to public facilities and services like hospitals, schools, markets, museums, zoos, playground and other.
The stakeholders further called on parents to monitor their children and instill discipline in them as charity begins at home. The group stated that moral conduct and other norms and values of the society should be taught by parents while teachers on their side in schools should enlighten, educate and orientate the pupils and students on peace, love, forgiveness and reconciliation.
They also recommended that all community and religious leaders should be adequately and effectively engaged by the government and humanitarian as well as development partners in the nitty gritty of norms and values of the society as well as teachings of the religion of Islam and Christianity as panacea and pacesetters for Peace, Reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.
The stakeholders also suggested that stigmatisation against marriage of the repentant insurgents or associating with their parents, families and children by way of dissocialising with them should be avoided or stop for peace and development.
