Insecurity: SAFEX debuts App in Nigeria

Following the spate of insecurity in the country, SAFEX, an indigenous digital security company has unveiled the App to help tackle some of the security and emergency challenges bedeviling the country.

The founder of the company, Mr JR. Okoli, said the organisation leveraged technology by developing two Apps-  System Access For Emergency (SAFEX) and SAFE Protection to checkmate incidents of kidnapping.

He said the launch of the  company, the first in Nigeria’s digital security sub-sector is also used to track armed robbery and  other security and emergency situations in the country.

Okoli said SAFEX also ensures needed protection is provided  at the click of a button, also makes available  trained security personnel (bodyguards) to individuals  on immediate request during emergency.

According to him, both Apps can be downloaded on android and Iphone.

He said the company has so far engaged the services of 30 trained security personnel.

Okoli said the organisation would leave no stone unturned to contribute its quota to tame the insecurity  challenges confronting the country.

“Nigerians are facing an existential crisis in terms of security.  Nigeria can survive coronavirus, ebola, corruption but when it comes to insecurity, it is not going to survive it,” Okoli said.

Also, the co-founder of SAFEX, Mr Abubakar Imam, said while access to the services of SAFE Protection- that has all the emergency numbers in the country is free, that of SAFEX requires the payment of little money.

“The first one we launched is SAFE Protection. If you are in an emergency situation, you can access police line,  if it is an accident –Road Safety.

“if it is fire- the fire service number is there, because most times people in difficulty will not remember those numbers but with the Safe Protection the numbers are there and with a click it will go straight to their situation room and at that point they will be able to pick your location whether you speak or not and come for your rescue,” Abubakar said.
