The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has denied reports in the media that it suspended 202 staff indicted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The Commission in a statement yesterday by its Secretary, Mrs. Augusta Ogakwu, called on the members of the public to disregard the report, as “it is in the process of investigating and interviewing the staff concerned in accordance with the principles of fair hearing”.
The statement further explained that in line with INEC’s staff conditions of service, “no disciplinary action can be taken until the conclusion of the process”.
INEC further stated that the investigation would be made public when the process was concluded.
