An accident involving a Dangote trailer and some mini buses occurred at the IMO State University (IMSU) junction in Owerri Saturday evening.
An eyewitness told Blueprint correspondent that the Dangote trailer coming from the Orji axis of Okigwe Road lost control and skidded off its lane to the other lane where the mini commercial buses were waiting for passengers.
He said not less than 15 passengers got injured and confirmed that many died after the incident and some were taken to the mortuary while others were taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state has commiserated with families that lost their loved ones and directed medical personnel to take good care of those in the hospital.
