Imo lands ministry begins bush clearing

Imo state Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Planning has embarked on clearing of layouts covered with bushes that have hideouts for kidnappers and other hoodlums.
Addressing members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) yesterday, the Commissioner in charge of the ministry, Hon Uche Nwosu, said the areas included Housing Areas “T’, “TA”, Okohia, Secretariat Extension(the institutional and staff quarters) Layout, Rescue Layout, Nworie North Layout, Egbu/Naze Timber and Allied Market Layout and Open Spaces.

Nwosu also said opening of roads in Housing Areas “W”, “T”, “TA”, Okohia, Rescue Layout, Egbu/Naze Timber and Allied Market Approach Layout and the Institutional and Staff Quarter Layout was on-going and hoped that the strategy would grant access to allottees to commence development of their properties and that those hesitant to pay their property fees would have no more excuses. This he said would bring in revenue to the government.
He advised Imo people to avail themselves of the use of Imo Geographic Information Agency (IGIA).
According to him, with this breakthrough, improved facilities and logistics for processing of certificates of occupancy and land applications were assured.
