I’ll operate open door policy – Kano HOS

The newly appointed Kano Head of Service, Dr. Kabiru Shehu, has said operating an open door policy would be the major cardinal thrust of his administration for in order to entrench good governance and effective service delivery in the state.

Speaking shortly after assuming the mantle of leadership from his predecessor, Alhaji Muhammad Farouk Na’ya  Tuesday, Shehu said “consolidating such a working  spirit has become imperative in the face of the challenge for ensuring  productivity  and high discipline  on the  part of Civil servants , expected to live up to their billing.”

According to him, his administration  would be consistent in ensuring that the issue of punctuality is taken into cognizance for  workers flouting the norms of punctuality and the spirit of commitment and devotion to duty are appropriately sanctioned adding that  the issue of service delivery and productivity   is the  pre-requisite for    entrenching a sustained and virile Civil Service.

He said in a digital age, workers are poised to take the good advantage of the advent of the new dawn of Information Technology  to excel in their respective chosen carrier which required the use of the  much pronounced  digital device stressing that  without being computer literate, the workings and operations of the State Civil Service would not be feasible and result oriented.
