The newly appointed Kano Head of Service, Dr. Kabiru Shehu, has said operating an open door policy would be the major cardinal thrust of his administration for in order to entrench good governance and effective service delivery in the state.
Speaking shortly after assuming the mantle of leadership from his predecessor, Alhaji Muhammad Farouk Na’ya Tuesday, Shehu said “consolidating such a working spirit has become imperative in the face of the challenge for ensuring productivity and high discipline on the part of Civil servants , expected to live up to their billing.”
According to him, his administration would be consistent in ensuring that the issue of punctuality is taken into cognizance for workers flouting the norms of punctuality and the spirit of commitment and devotion to duty are appropriately sanctioned adding that the issue of service delivery and productivity is the pre-requisite for entrenching a sustained and virile Civil Service.
He said in a digital age, workers are poised to take the good advantage of the advent of the new dawn of Information Technology to excel in their respective chosen carrier which required the use of the much pronounced digital device stressing that without being computer literate, the workings and operations of the State Civil Service would not be feasible and result oriented.
