Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state yesterday said nothing would stop his administration from working for the people until the last day of his administration.
He said the real purpose of government was to work for the people, build roads so that people can do their businesses.
Oshiomhole, who stated this during an inspection of the reconstruction site of  Ekenhuan Road  in Benin City, said “individuals can build their homes but government creates the environment to enable that to happen.”

He said:  “At a time, the road became a big issue because we have a whole military barrack on this road, and if there was a distress call, it was going to be very difficult to get the military to intervene.
“And for our people who are living here, spending a thousand or two thousand naira on transport to town, that takes almost one month salary of an average person.
So, I couldn’t do much about it when the rains were heavy, but I did say that when the rains are over, we will do our best to fix the road.
“So, we use asphalt where it is suitable and use hard well-mixed concrete on the road so that it can withstand water and all kinds of season.”
