IHRC congratulates Tinubu, governors, Nigerians on peaceful transition 

The Ambassador at Large African Region, International Human Rights Commission, Ambassador Malami Shehu Ma’aji has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the peaceful transition of power in the country.

He also rejoiced with the newly sworn in governors for successfully taken over the affairs of twenty-eight states in Nigeria during the democracy day.

This is contained in a press release signed by the Ambassador At Large of African Region Dr, Malami Shehu Ma’aji.

He further applauded Nigerians, the security institutions and all stakeholders, particularly, the former President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring peaceful transition, noting that the process significantly elevated Nigeria ‘s status in the comity of nations.

Dr Shehu Ma’aji advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue to respect the rule of law and human rights and assured him the IHRC’s support for the development of the country.

He also assured that the International Human Right Commission would continue to stand for the respect of human rights and fundamental freedoms of the people, particularly, women, children and less privileged.

“The main objectives of International Human Rights Commission are to serve humanity irrespective of their differences in religion, region and tribe, as well as struggle against violation of human rights, bloodshed and terrorism in Africa and the world” he said.

“We provide awareness and educate the governments, legislatures, diplomats among others to ensure people’s rights are been respected and also protected,” he said.

He also urged Nigerians to embrace peace, unity and love as no nation developed without peaceful coexistence.
