ICRC supports 1, 000 IDPs with cash in Adamawa

International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has donated N40, 000 each to 1,000 returnee Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Michika local government area of Adamawa state to start small businesses.
Head of sub-delegation of the organisation, Mr. Ignacio San Roman, made this known yesterday in Yola in an interview with newsmen.
Roman said the development was to create business opportunity and assist the returnee IDPs improve their livelihood.
“As part of the committee’s humanitarian intervention in Adamawa, about 1,000 returning internally displaced persons assisted with unconditional cash grant.
“Each beneficiary received N40, 000 to restart or expand a small business of his choice,” he said.
He said among the beneficiaries include petty traders, restaurant and small eateries, and tailoring, among others.
