Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) , Kogi state chapter, Hon. Taufiq Isah, has refuted the rumour of his detention at the police headquarters in Abujà, describing it as “a mere gimmick aimed at misleading the people.”
He also urged elders of Okun land to call Melaye to order over his decision to always attack Governor Yahaya Bello.

At a press conference yesterday in Lokoja, Isah, who is the administrator of Ijumu LGA, said though he was invited to Force Headquarters in Abuja over a malicious petition written by Senator Melaye, claiming that “I sent some people to bugle his house; this claim does not contain an iota of truth.”

“On January 27, 2017, when the state government was celebrating one year in office, information reached us that Senator Meyale was planning to organise a press conference in Abuja to condemn the one year administration of governor Yahaya Bello, as one of the GYB leaders in Okun land I summoned a meeting of Okun people to dissociate ourselves from the outcome of Melaye’s press conference.
“Dino Melaye’s petition is a ruse and cannot stand because there was no iota of truth in the entire petition. Melaye is known to be organising protects against Presidents and Kogi state governor, why this ours pained him so much that he resorted to writing petition that lack substance. I cannot just be arrested without any offense and I am too big for Dino Melaye to be humiliated,” he said.
