The new Permanent Secretary of the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mr Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, has assured he will work with officials of the ministry in achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking Friday in Abuja, Enitan, who was redeployed from ministry of Police Affairs, said that the outgoing Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, did well within a year in the ministry, hence he will be building on what is on ground than reinventing new wheels.

He said: “When my posting came yesterday, I was a bit surprised. However, we immediately adjusted to the new reality. Change is the only permanent thing in life. When it happens, you just have to adjust to life. I am glad to be here because I heard so much about the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. I am coming with expectations to work with friends in the ministry.

“I am coming to leverage on the good works done by the outgoing Permanent Secretary, not to reinvent new wheels. This ministry is always in the news. When you do well, you will be commended. When you do bad, you will be condemned. I am here with the aim to contribute my quota in helping President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to achieve the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Everyday I set a task for myself and aim to achieve something. This is why we must help Mr President to achieve the Renewed Hope Agenda. I know it is achievable. He will guide and we will follow. Whatever we do, resources are involved. Whenever we manage resources of government, we must ensure value for money so that the output will justify the input. We must all do our best to achieve success. Together, we will drive the activities of the ministry in a manner to impact on citizens.”

On his part, the outgoing Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, who was redeployed to the ministry of Police Affairs, said that the job of a permanent secretary is to ensure effective human management and implementation of policies, hence the new Permanent Secretary won’t have difficulties in acclimatizing with staff of the ministry.
