One of the survivors of the March 2022 Abuja-Kaduna train attack, Comrade M. B. Muhammad, has shared a startling personal encounter with a man he identified as one of his abductors at a mosque in Kaduna.
In a post shared on his official Facebook account, Muhammad said the unexpected meeting occurred a few days ago at Shema Mosque near Bakin Ruwa Junction in Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
According to him, the man whom he identified as Abubakar was one of the terrorists who abducted passengers from the Kaduna-bound train (AK-9) on March 28, 2022.
Instead of handing the suspect over to the authority, Muhammad however stated that he had forgiven him.
“His name is Abubakar. He told me he has repented and stopped terrorism. Now he is doing okada.
“After we had a long conversation with him, I found out that some of them were destroyed, some have continued with the act of terrorism.
“At the end, I told him that I forgive them and I plead for him because of the situation. I have seen him. Oh God guide us and them together,” he wrote.
The 2022 attack on the AK-9 train which resulted in multiple deaths, injuries, and abductions shocked the nation.
While some victims have since been released, the trauma and memories remain raw for many.
It will also be recalled that hundreds of millions of Naira was paid as ransom to the kidnappers before the release of some of the victims.
