Michika residents in Adamawa state have known no peace since the atrocious Boka Haram invaded the town on September 7, 2014, in full military regalia, killing and beheading people.
A source, who spoke to our correspondent on grounds of anonymity for fear of being attacked, said the sect stormed Michika on the invitation of the residents.
The source said: “The people of Michika are predominantly Christians and it appears the invasion of the town by the Boko Haram sect is part of the clandestine plan to Islamise Michika. This stems from the fact that the Boko Haram issued an ultimatum to the people to convert to Islam.”
Blueprint authoritatively gathered that five girls were kidnapped on Friday at Garta market, while Gobir, Sho-Sho and Kopale were attacked with hundreds of people killed.
It was also gathered that some of the villages that had been consistently under attack by the sect included Bazza, Garta / Kamale, Kopale, Kubir, Sho-Sho, Villegwa, Watu, VI, and Kasuwan Naira, Zah-hilltop as well as the entire area of Michika 2.
The source said in Gulak local government, areas such as Shua, Karchinya, Madagali, Gulaka, Duhu were also under siege by the dreaded sect, adding that many people were also killed while churches were burnt down in Duhu.
Boko Haram had on Thursday after beheading two people in Kopale for refusing to renounce their Christian faith, threatened that any Christian in Michika, Mubi and Gulak who refused to convert to Islam within the Sallah period would be killed, Blueprint learnt.
Two days ago in Michika, the house of the Minister of Youth, Boni Haruna, was burnt down by the dreaded sect making laud their threat.
One of our sources who spoke to correspondent from Michika lamented that there is no military presence in the entire Michika local government area, calling on the authorities to come to their rescue.
The source further pleaded with the federal government on the need to urgently complete the construction of the bridge across the Yazaram River which has made the besieged people of Michika impossible to escape as hundreds of the residents of the area had been drown, while trying to escape from the claws of the evil Boko Haram sect.
The people of Michika have, therefore, appealed to the military High Command to deploy soldiers to Michika and its environs.
