Okogie marks birthday in style, strategises for APC in Edo guber polls

All through his trailblazing academic, professional corporate and public service career, Hon (Prince) Odianosen Okogie, has never been known to accept half measures, the average or the rudimentary; far from it, the revered Esan royal blue blood has always aimed for the top, striven for the highest position and endeavoured for excellence and outstanding achievement in all positive ramifications.

Thus his birthday celebration on the 15th May 2024 at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja to mark his 45th year on earth was no less different as the high and mighty were in attendance including the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Tajudeen Abbas; the House Majority Leader Hon Julius lhevbare, the House Minority Leader Hon Kingsley Chinda, the Deputy Leader Abubakar Halims, the Chief Whip Hon Usman Bello Kumo, Hon Tony Akpatason, Hon Mascot Ikwechegh, other movers and shakers of the august assembly, numerous invited guests, admirers and well wishers.

An upbeat Hon Okogie deeply appreciated the unalloyed support and solidarity displayed by the House Speaker and his entourage as well as his colleagues, guests and admirers thanking them for their presence and support which went a long way towards making the occasion a memorable one. Hon Okogie also applauded the leadership style, focus and purpose of the Honourable Speaker which has gone a long way towards moving the House agenda forward and also furthering the delivery of crucial dividends of democracy to the Nigerian people.

He also restated his utmost commitment to uplifting the welfare and wellbeing of the good people of Esan West/Esan East Federal Constituency of Edo State which he presently represents in the House of Representatives. A corporate mogul and able Chairman/Chief Executive of Henod Group of Companies, Hon Odi Okogie is a highly successful oil and gas magnate and a top flier in the automobile and hospitality industry and given his vast oil/gas background has vowed to tackle the structural issues and challenges facing the industry as House Petroleum Midstream Committee helmsman.

A scion of the illustrious Okogie family, Hon Okogie’s ancestral lineage can be traced far back to the legendary Ogbidi Okojie, Onojie of Uromi and paramount ruler of the Esan people (1857-1944), a fearless fighter against British colonialism.

A resolute Hon Odi Okogie displayed the famed courage and hardy resolve of his royal forbears when he staunchly backed the zoning of the APC governorship ticket to the Edo Central Senatorial Zone despite subterranean attempts to deny the zone of it’s rightful position. Hon Okogie and other Central Zone advocates rightly argued that it was the turn of their zone to produce the next governor of Edo State given that other zones had served eight years in the Government House and apart from Governor Osarieren Osunbor’s short-lived tenure, the last time an Esan man had ruled the state was Governor Ambrose Alli in the early 80s. Hon Odi Okogie’s unflinching and uncompromising stance won the day for Edo Central which was zoned the ticket thus leading to the emergence of Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo as the APC gubernatorial candidate for Edo State in the September 2024 polls.

As an ebullient Hon (Prince) Odi Okogie marks his 45th birthday day in grand style, he has also taken giant strides towards delivering the Edo State Government House to the All Progressive Congress come November 2024. That will be double celebrations indeed and worthy of the Esan Prince’s famed ancestral lineage. To God be the Glory.
