The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole and his FCT counterpart, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Bello, are expected to lead other eminent personalities and professionals for a seminar on drug indiscipline, organised by Blueprint, in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Health.
The event, billed to kick off at 9 am on Thursday at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, will also be attended by chairmen of the Senate and House of Representatives’ committees on health.
The seminar, according to the organisers, will bring together experts and practitioners to brainstorm on the dangers of misuse and abuse of drugs.
Other personalities expected to grace the occasion include; Director General of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Colonel Mustapha Abdallah and the Corps Marshall of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi.
Also to attend the event are chief executives of agencies under the Ministry of Health; including National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), National Primary Healthcare Development Authority (NPHCDA), and National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), among others.
The event will also feature Medical Equipment and Pharmaceutical exhibitions.
The gathering is also expected to draw participants from some relevant federal and state ministries of health and other agencies as well as local government healthcare departments.
Also to feature at the programme, are federal and state legislators.
A statement from the secretariat, also said representatives from the World Health Organisation (WHO), National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas, National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), paramilitary institutions, and private individuals among others.
