A group of Nigerians under the aegis of the ‘Take It Back’ movement, on Monday, took to the streets of Lagos in protest against what they described as bad governance in Nigeria.

The protesters, who had gathered peacefully to express their grievances, were thrown into disarray as police dispersed them.

Key among the concerns raised by the organisers are the alleged misuse of the Cybercrime Act, the worsening economic hardship in the country, and what they described as a “state of emergency” in Rivers State.

This demonstration comes just a day after the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, urged organizers to cancel the planned nationwide protest scheduled for April 7, 2025.
