Gusau takes charge as WAFU Zone B president

Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau has taken charge as the new president of the of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B.

Gusau, who is also the president of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, officially resume work at the WAFU headquarters in Cocody Rivera 4 area of Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on Monday.

His elevation to the position comes after the election of Kurt-Edwin Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, into the CAF Executive Committee at the congress in Egypt on March 12, 2025.

Okraku has since been appointed CAF’s second Vice President, creating a vacancy in the WAFU Zone B presidency.

As President of WAFU Zone B, Gusau will work closely with member countries to promote football development, improve governance, and enhance the competitiveness of teams in the region.

With his wealth of experience in football administration, Gusau is well-positioned to lead WAFU Zone B and take the organization to greater heights.
