Gunmen yesterday killed a couple in separate locations in Kaduna, sources told Blueprint.
The incident occurred in villages located in Sanga and Zangon Kataf local government areas, respectively.
One of the sources said it occurred in the early hours of yesterday, when the gunmen stormed Rikawan, situated in Zangon Kataf local government area, and killed husband and wife, injuring four others in the village; they, however, escaped when the community started mobilising against them.
The source said: “The gunmen came on Sunday/Monday night with dangerous weapon, they killed the couple, Mrs and Mrs. Ayuba and Sarah Kure and injured four others, you know our communities are isolated and no one knows the mission of the gunmen.”
Another source, Mr. John Joseph in Fadan Karshi, Sanga local government, said Mr. and Mrs. Dauda Maidawa was killed in their farmland and their corpses were discovered yesterday.
Joseph, Maidawa’s cousin, added that their family had reported their discovery to the police.
Police Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna state command, Supt. Aminu Lawan, did not return calls put through to him by our reporter.
