A group of armed men, suspected to be from the Islamic West African Providence (ISWAP), targeted party-goers at a local club in Kwari, Gaidam local government area of Yobe state Thursday night and reportedly killed six people.
An anonymous source from the community revealed that the terrorists arrived at the club around 2:00am firing shots at fleeing party-goers.
Additional source confirmed that six corpses had so far been recovered, and that security forces were “currently at the scene.”
According to the source, “Six corpses have been recovered and they also burned one vehicle and many houses.”
Blueprint recalls that the latest incident marked the second attack by gunmen on the same club; in 2022, the assailants targeted Kwari, a popular brothel, resulting in the brutal killing of 10 people, including women.
