The Director General, Hope Community Vanguard, Hon. Frank Onwumere, has called on Imo state indigenes to join Governor Hope Uzodinma to develop the state.
Onwumere made the call Wednesday at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) where he thanked the election management body for a successful and peaceful conduct of the November 11 governorship election in the state.
The DG, who came to the Headquarters of INEC in Abuja with some members of the Community Vanguard, also thanked all the security agencies for their conducts during the election.
Speaking to the media, Onwumere said, “we are at the INEC Headquarters to thank the electoral body for conducting a peaceful and successful election on November 11.
“We also thank Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing a level playing field for the election. Also we thank him for the support he has given and he is still giving to the governor of Imo state.
“Also we are using the opportunity to thank the Army, Police, NSCDC and other security agencies that participated in the in the conduct of the election.”
On those kicking against the outcome of election, Onwumere said they cannot reverse the election because it has been won and lost.
He said, “for those who contested the election and other Imo state indigenes, l want them to join the governor to develop the state.”
According to him, nobody would say he loves Imo state and Imo people and would be indulging to pull the state down or kill her people.
He said, “Governor Hope Uzodinma has a large heart and he is willing to work with lmolites for the progress and development of Imo state.
“He didn’t take power for the fun of it, he took power for development of Imo state.”
“Those that came to protest came with placards written: we are here to thank INEC; we are here to thank the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we are here to thank the Police; and we are here to thank other security agencies.”
