Group hails FUEK VC Prof. Haruna on purposeful leadership

A group, Intellectuals Without Borders, has commended Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education Kongagora, Niger state Professor Abdulrashid Faruk Haruna’s leadership as purposeful and outstanding.

The group in a statement jointly signed by Alhaji Fatai Ibrahim, Executive Director and Mohammed Sanni, Secretary, highlighted Professor Haruna’s quest for academic excellence, human capital development, and research initiatives as unique virtues that have thrown him into limelight, which attracted his new office.

The group said, “As the pioneer vice-chancellor of this great citadel, we see Prof. Abdulrashid Faruk Haruna as a thorough academic as well as a beacon of hope, who will lay a solid and sound foundation for the growth and overall development of the institution.

“We have no doubt in our mind that he’s a round peg in a round hole, whose pedigree and antecedent on service delivery are legendary and commended by those who have been keenly following his knack for excellence in whatever position he finds himself.

“Moreover, his leadership dexterity and administrative acumen cum intellectual acuity will also help to lay a solid foundation for the newly established Abdulkadir Kure University of Education, Minna, Niger state, as his name will continue to remain in the annals of history.

“Prof. Absulrashid Faruk Haruna’s unprecedented achievements also came into the forefront as the then Provost of the Niger State College of Education when most of the iconic projects at the institution were put in place.

“Also worthy of note, Napoleon Hills once said a true leader is an ordinary man with extra-ordinary ideas and Prof. Abdulrashid Faruk Haruna falls into this hemisphere. His simplicity,  candour, humane nature, interpersonal disposition, service to humanity, community leadership  and listening ear are great and superlative qualities that make him first amongst equals. 

“We call on all stakeholders to rally round him to take the new University of Education Kontagora to the Eldorado in the comity of universities globally.

“It is our wish that his reign will usher in more good tidings, great transformation, sound academic excellence, as he seen as beacon of hope to the future generations of intelligentsia who will bring about the desire revolution in our collective quest for the overall  development of our educational system, as history and posterity will record him in positive light.”
