Group endorses philanthropist for Kogi gov

Kogi State Liberation Organization has endorsed Alhaji Kebiru Haruna for the position governor of the state to in the November 16 governorship poll.

The group said its members endorsed him because he has what it takes to savage, redeem and rebuild the human and infrastructural decay that have bedevilled Kogi state in recent time.

The president of the organisation, Comrade Michael Ojochegbe, who disclosed this in Lokoja Sunday, said the only leader who can salvage the state from its present decay, lawlessness and underdevelopment is Alhaji Kebiru Haruna, the managing director of Saraha Homes International.

He described the aspirant, who is contesting the election on the platform of the People Democratic Party (PDP), as a tested technocrat, seasoned administrator whose wealth of experience is second to none among the governorship aspirants that have so far indicated interest.

According to him “Our organisation’s endorsement of Alhajii Kebiru Haruna is as a result of his track records of human development, accountability, fairness, just and above all fear of God.

“Amongst our consideration of his attributes are payments of WAEC, NECO, NAPTEB fees for the less privilege in the society, giving scholarship to indigent students across all institution of learning in Kogi state and other states.

“Also, the empowerment of widows and youths, sponsoring of pilgrims to Mecca and Jerusalem, active participation in community developments among other humanitarian services he often rendered to people.

“As representatives of our various groups, we know that as Alhaji Haruna step forward in response to the clarion call and distress cries of the good people of Kogi state, we have the implicit confidence and believe in the wealth of experience of charting a new cause that will change the Kogi narratives from the present tale of woes and deprivations to the pathway of a prosperous new Kogi state”.

Ojochegba called on the people of the state to rally round the aspiration of Alhaji Haruna  who he described as a detribalised Nigerian that would carry everybody along irrespective of religion and tribe if given the opportunity to pilot the affairs of the state.
