Group empowers residents

A micro-economic empowerment team, Say Yes To My Needs, has presented cheques to some residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as part of its efforts to raise the standard of living of some Nigerians.
It called on government at all levels and private individuals to join hand with the organisation to bring hope to Nigerians.

While presenting cheques to deserving beneficiaries for small and medium- scale businesses at the weekend, the director-general of the organisation, Francis Pember, said the organisation had already built up a statistic of over 35, 000 people across the nation, “who have continued to feed on the stable of Say Yes To My Needs, to alleviate their poverty.”

He said individual beneficiaries got up to N100, 000, while a group of 10 or cooperative societies could get from N1 million and above as loans to help their small businesses.
Pember said while the loans were given by the Peace Micro Finance Bank to the beneficiaries, the organisation bore the burden of paying off the interests to help the members.

He called on the federal government to take off the huge task of his organisation’s back by saying yes to the needs of Nigerians in order to change their lives.
The sum of one hundred thousand naira was paid to a school for part of the outstanding fees of 10 pupils under scholarship in the school.
