Group celebrate Speaker Abbas’ 2 years in office

Team Muqaddas, in partnership with the Tukur Tukur Youth for Political Progression, has marked the two-year anniversary of Rt. Hon. Dr. Abbas Tajudeen’s tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives, hailing his leadership as a unifying force in Nigeria’s legislative landscape.

Speaking at the celebration as Guest Speaker, Comrade Abdul Azeez Suleiman reflected on the challenges that faced the National Assembly when Abbas assumed office, describing the political climate as one of uncertainty and division.

He said Nigeria needed a leader who could bridge the gaps, foster dialogue and unite diverse  voices under a common purpose.

The Guest Speaker said that Iyan Zazzau has not only risen to this occasion but has also redefined what it means to lead with integrity, compassion, and commitment to the people.

According to him, leadership is not about holding position or power , it is about the ability to inspire, mobilize and to enact meaningful  change.

Comrade  Suleiman said, under Speaker Abbas’ stewardship we witnessed a transformation  in the dynamics of our legislative processes.

While acknowledging the contributions of Aliyu Garba Waziri and recognizing his pivotal role as the liaison officer for the Speaker.  

Comrade Suleiman who acknowledged Abbas championed inclusiveness, ensuring that every voice is heard and every concern is addressed, also pointed out that throughout this period Speaker Abbas has prioritised the people’s agenda and has listened to the aspirations of the citizens, translating their hopes and dreams into actionable policies.

The Guest Speaker proposed a strategic agenda for the people of Zaria Federal Constituency to reelect Speaker Abbas to the House of Representatives in 2027, which will follow his retention as the Speaker of the 11th National Assembly.

He said this initiative is aligned with the anticipated  political transition in 2031.

He said it is imperative for the North to present a viable and credible candidate for the Presidency.

He said, this foresight underscores the necessity of consolidating political capital now to secure a robust and unified Northern front in the forthcoming electoral cycle.
